DRESS CODE

STATEMENT OF POLICY

It is the policy of AlBaqir Academy that all students wear a school uniform. The uniform must be worn while attending school, field trips and excursions, and all school events unless otherwise indicated by the Administration. Hijab (scarves) are also mandatory for all girls during prayers and for girls in grades 1 and up, during the school day.

Uniforms must be purchased through the vendor indicated by the Academy. Please ensure all personal articles are clearly marked with your child’s name; i.e., boots, indoor shoes, running shoes, bags, gym clothing, shirts, blouses, pants, cardigans, coats, lunch kits, etc. Valuables and money should not be brought to school.

Every year students lose many articles of clothing. This could be dramatically decreased if all clothing were marked clearly with the owner’s name. A “lost and found” box is available, however, any clothes that are left are given to charity at the end of each academic term. Any lunch boxes or

utensils left behind will be disposed of by the end of the day. Kindly ensure your child(ren) return all food and lunch items home on a daily basis.

To keep the school cleaner and safer, students must have a pair of shoes to change into when they come into the classroom rather than wearing outdoor shoes. Students are not to wear outdoor clothes inside the school and classrooms. Proper gym attire must be purchased from the vendor designated by the Academy.

Wearing jewelry, make up, henna and nail polish is strictly forbidden. Rings with ‘Aqiq, Fairooz, or Durr Al-Najaf stones worn for religious purposes will be allowed but must be removed in gym class. Students will be asked to remove all ornaments and a disciplinary action will be taken if the action is repeated.

Hairstyles for boys must adhere to AlBaqir Academy’s moral standards. Dying the hair is not permitted for boys. Hairstyles and colouring dyes deemed unacceptable by the Principal must be changed within two days. Boys who will be warned about changing their haircuts and choose not to follow the rules, will be deprived from attending classes, and may face suspension.

Long nails are also not permitted at AlBaqir Academy. Students found with long nails may be asked to cut their nails.
